Ozzie Guillen Passes Tony Larussa on Wins List!!
May 4th, 2010 by Darren
Monday night’s win against the Royals was big for a couple of reasons. The first is that Jake Peavy looked like he was back to being Jake Peavy. He threw the ball hard with plenty of movement and kept the Royals off balance all night long. The guy is a gamer and he’s fun to watch on the mound.
What seems to have gone unnoticed by a lot of media outlets is that last night’s win was Ozzie’s 523rd win as a White Sox manager, putting him alone in 3rd place as he passed Tony Larussa. It’s a major accomplishment and Ozzie should be proud of the work he’s done here since taking over in 2004. Now he’s just 377 wins from being alone in 1st place! Congrats Ozzie!!
